Jersey Designs
As a Designer at Primal Wear, I design jerseys for various cycling teams across the United States. Jersey designs are created in Adobe Illustrator, then transferred to 3D models using CLO. For some Jersey designs, full illustrations are made using PhotoShop and/or Clip Studio Paint. Designs are created based on customer concepts and revisions.
Pedal the Cause (2024)
Client provided brand guidelines and asked for emphasis to be placed on the “I Ride” phrase, but otherwise the design was left very open ended. I created a design that used simple color blocking, allowing the “I Ride” phrase to stand out and creating a clean, modern look. Diagonal multi-colored lines were added to add a bit of movement to the design that didn’t overpower the branding. Multiple designs were considered and ultimately this design was selected, with shorts and bibs made to match

Ride to end ALZ - Nation’s Capital Breakaway Challenge (2025)
Jersey design created for the Alzheimer’s Association. Client provided brand guidelines but otherwise left design very open ended. I wanted to keep the design simple as to not interfere with the organization’s branding. I used a set of wavy bicycle treads to frame the organization’s logo. The design focused heavily on the color purple, with white being used to draw the eye to areas of interest, and orange/teal used as accents. Multiple designs were chosen to be used in various rides, and this one was chosen for the Nation’s Capital Breakaway Challenge
Inline: Belfry (2025)
A design made for Primal’s inline product line. Created in collaboration with the sales team, the design is meant to be an homage to Primal’s older, louder, and more chaotic designs. Each design element was initially drawn on paper using Sharpie, then scanned in and colored in Photoshop. Elements were arranged in Illustrator and placed into the jersey pattern file with minor adjustments being made to better work on a garment
Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride (2025)
Client requested a design that exemplified the gravel bike and road bike parts of their event. Specifically requested a “split screen” design with a blue side representing the gravel bike portion and an orange side representing the road bike portion. The client also requested specific landmarks (most notably the clock tower) and easter-eggs be added to the design to make it feel more unique to the ride’s region. The clock tower and other detailed elements were created on an Illustrator file separate from the pattern file so I could focus on getting the details right. Once completed, the complicated designs were transfered to the pattern file and adjusted to work on a jersey

Blucifer’s Breakaway (2025)
Client requested a jersey full of references to Colorado and Denver. Client wanted jersey to be fun and campy, with an emphasis on Denver International Airport’s infamous horse statue “Blucifer,” and references to the alien conspiracy theories centered around DIA. Jersey art was created in Clip Studio Paint and edited in Photoshop before being transferred into Illustrator. Art for the foreground and background was kept separate for ease of editing while the project was in-progress. Once it was completed, the front, back, and sleeve art was flattened into individual jpgs to reduce the overall file size
Inline: Roadtrip Ride (2024)
Design created in collaboration with sales department for Primal’s inline product line. Design was created to be a fun jersey celebrating travel and some cyclist in-jokes. The license plate images were all edited to include custom text using Photoshop. Once edited, license plates were clumped together in a different Photoshop document in a random arrangement to give the jersey a more lively feeling. The “clumped” and individual edited versions of the license plates were kept in separate Photoshop files for ease of editing should text need to be changed or tweaked
